I'm afraid about miss understanding in infrared camera. There is a camera namely infrared thermal imaging or FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared Cameras). This camera able to record thermal which is spread out from our body or something that generate heat. This camera is design for capture high quality thermal imaging that meet the needs of particular application like Automation,Building Diagnostics, Electrical / Mechanical, Optical Gas Imaging / Furnace Inspection, and any other Research & Development work. These cameras can create magnificent image, not as artistic but more in technical, but for me, its have artistic value too, but i 'm afraid artist or photographer wont like the price of these camera. Yea, i want this camera too but the cheapest price is more than $1000 for the simplest type, am i  crazy?


The infrared camera usually use for photography is not the same thing as thermal imaging.. Thermal imaging systems are able to detect  more different wavelengths of IR energy than modified camera to infrared..
Infrared camera like mine simply records only certain wavelengths of infrared radiation emitted by infrared energy sources or, more commonly, reflecting back from objects. To make difference with FLIR, i named these modified camera to capture infrared  as   photography infrared camera.
so when you use photography infrared camera. objects must be illuminated by an light that generated IR, as a sample, the sun, a light bulb or even camera flash are generated IR. Most objects (trees, people, hills, etc) do not radiate IR energy at wavelengths which can be recorded by  photography infrared camera .
Maybe the correct name for modified ir camera is to call it as“reflected IR photography,”a reminder that you’re recording the infrared energy reflected from things .not vairous wavelength of IR.
As a sample when you take a photograph in sunny day, its mean you’re recording reflected IR from the sun. Thats why you can take excellent IR photos. But when you try taking a photograph in the dark using a camera modified to IR, if there are no sources of IR light, then you’ll get a black picture.
The modified camera can only capture IR in  photographically-detectable IR (from around 700nm to apparently about 1200nm) and it behaves basically like visible light from a photographic point of view.  it can be altered optically and it look as photography image, as art, not as technical or science.

the modified camera doesn’t behave to capture gamma radiation or radio waves or various infrared spectral wave or anything, that i dont know how to make a FLIR camera.
