Canon powershot A810 full spectrum/ infrared camera

Monday, October 15, 2012

here is the canon powershoot A810 infrared test result, i use this camera for subtitution of PS A1200 which is already discontinue and replaced with newer camera with bigger resolution.

Image Sensor    CCD pixels    16Mp (Megapixels)  Sensor Size    1/2.3 inch
Aspect Ratio    4:3 ,16:9
LCD Monitor    2.7in. Screen resolution    230000

This camera can do exactly like A1200 can do, only it has bigger resolution, has a same lens coverage, same lens quality so my opinion its better to use a810 than stick on A1200.

here are my sample test

I haave an A810 and would like to take infrared photos.
I am a little unsure about how to do it. Your pictures are great but do you just use an infrared filter or do I need to do some technical adjustments to my camera?
    I appreciate your help.
    Thank you.

it need big modification inside camera( remove the hot mirror and replaced with another glass ) and placed filter in front of lens. its not just put filter in standard camera.

Hi, can you please provide some hints on how to remove the hot mirror on the A810 ? I'm truly interested.

    Thank you
